Rafael Montilla, a multidisciplinary Artist 65, was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Oil painting with Lucio Rivas, Study at the Cristóbal Rojas Technical School of Visual Arts, School Taller Arte Fuego Cándido Millán Caracas. Venezuelan-American, based in Miami.

The Miami-Dade Public Library System selected Marlow Moss: Consciousness of the Universe, an exhibition by Rafael Montilla, to be presented from July 18 to October 2, 2025, at Westchester Regional Library, located at 9445 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33165.

Rafael Montilla was selected by Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus and curator Noor Blazekovic for a solo exhibition titled The Color Continuum, organized in collaboration with Myriam Alvarez. The show marked the final exhibition before major budget cuts to the MDC arts program.

The exhibition took place from June 1 to 28, 2025, at 1780 W 49th St, Hialeah, FL 33012. The exhibition wall text was written by art critic Dennys Matos, and a feature on the show was also published in El Nuevo Herald.

The piece Nature is dying was included in the Ancestral Lines group exhibition at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, located at 2855A Coral Springs Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33065. The exhibition was organized in partnership with the Fiber Artists Miami Association (FAMA) and ran from April 4 to July 5, 2025. It was curated by Juliana Forero, Ph.D.

The sculpture “Liberty” was selected for inclusion in the City of Miramar’s rotational Public Art on Loan Project called MCC ARTSCAPE for the 2024 – 26 period. 

He has been featured in the book “15 Flourishing Latin American Artists in Miami,” 2023, published by a curator and art critic, Katherine Chacon. The book also includes insightful texts by curators Megan Carnrite, Jared Christensen, and Kelly Zhong.

The sculpture “True Colors” was selected to be exhibited at Miami Dade College – Hialeah Campus for one year, 2023.

The sculpture “Floating Cube” was selected to be exhibited at FIU North Campus North Miami, FL 33181, for Happiness Fest 2023.

The installation “Big Bang Mirror” was selected to be exhibited at the Tijuana Triennial: I. Pictoric International from October 2021 to February 2022 at CECUT, Tijuana Museum.

His work has been exhibited in fairs, museums, and galleries in Spain, Venezuela, Canada, Holland, France, Italy, and the United States. He has participated in individual and collective exhibitions, obtaining recognition. His work is represented in private collections in the United States.
